40–300W solar panels for remote devices in South Africa
A buying guide for standalone cameras, farm monitoring and low-voltage outdoor equipment.
Keep the load boundary clear
The PDX panel range can be considered for small standalone DC devices. A 300W panel alone is not a household backup supply: usable runtime also depends on batteries, conversion losses and the load profile.
Understand the system voltage
The catalogue model names include 18V, referring to panel nomenclature, not a regulated load output. Ask for the full electrical datasheet and confirm the charge controller input limits and required output voltage.
Off-grid versus grid-connected
State whether the equipment will remain electrically separate from the grid. A standalone camera kit and a grid-connected installation have different installation requirements. Obtain locally applicable installation guidance before procurement.
